Background and Discussion:
The project is in Harris County, Precinct 3 in City of Houston. The scope of work consists of but not limited for the rehabilitation for Asphalt roadways - Approximately 4.5 miles of roads as follows: Root Road (1.9 miles), Dowdell Road (0.35 miles) and Kuykendahl Road (2.2 miles) and full depth reconstruction of Holy Road (1.23 miles)
The Changes in contract include:
• Adding Holy Road to the project as an additional scope of work resulted in adjustments to multiple line items; both increases and decreases across various line items, yielding a net added cost of $924,116.00 and extending the contract duration by 150 calendar days
Expected Impact:
Roadway rehabilitation will provide a new road section designed for major thoroughfare traffic and include intersection improvement. Improving the roadways will ensure reliable and safe transportation routes to businesses and residents of Harris County. Work will also include signing & pavement striping, and site restoration.
Alternative Options:
Leaving roadways in its current condition will continue to deteriorate if repairs and rehabilitation are not performed in the near future.
