Background and Discussion:
This project entails the construction of storm sewer drainage to convey drainage in the Cedar Bayou Park East
and West Subdivision from Sjolander Road to Bayou Boulevard.
The change in contract includes the following:
The line items have been adjusted to reconcile overrun quantities for completion of the proposed scope of work.
• The increase in quantities for line item 26 - Temporary Shoring in the amount of $498,550.00 zero (o) days.
• The increase in quantities for line items 42 - TYPE A INLET UP TO 30-inches and item 47 - 24-INCH RCP in the amount of $8,600 and five (5) days.
• Added 90 days to the contract due to delay caused by CenterPoint Energy utility conflict with the proposed 6'x3' RCB installation, with no additional cost.
The above additions result in a net change in the amount of $507,150.00 and 95 calendar days.
The County issued the Project’s Notice to Proceed on 06/02/2025. Per Attachment M of the Contract, the work was to be completed within 240 days of the Notice to Proceed, or by 01/27/2026. With this and all other prior approved change orders, the work is to be completed within 352 days of the Notice to Proceed, or by 05/20/2026.
Expected Impact:
This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in Cedar Bayou Park subdivision.
Alternative Options:
The County could elect to fund the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the contractor will not be able to complete the scope of work.
