Background and Discussion:

On May 11, 2004, the Commissioners Court approved an amendment to the order prohibiting the operation of motor vehicles on a county toll facility after failure to pay required toll or charge; imposing fees; and adopting administrative adjudication procedures for violation prohibition. As part of the administrative adjudication process, the Harris County Toll Road Authority maintains an escrow account with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles for scofflaw services to efficiently place holds and releases on vehicle registrations accordingly.

Expected Impact:

Maintaining a sufficient balance is crucial to avoid disruptions in the adjudication process and ensure seamless interactions with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, particularly in the process of placing holds and releases on vehicle registrations. Timely replenishment of the escrow account is essential for us to continue our operations without any interruptions.
