Background and Discussion:

The project proposes a redesign of a critical 4-lane boulevard within a 100-foot right-of-way, transitioning from a 14-foot to a 32-foot median, and shifting from traditional roadside ditches to shallow swales for improved stormwater management. The design includes strategic median openings and left turn lanes at key intersections like Rolling Falls Drive and Tall Pine Vista Lane, enhancing traffic flow without the need for additional signals. A new 5-foot-wide sidewalk along the north right-of-way will enhance pedestrian safety, complemented by an underground storm sewer system leading to a detention basin designed to meet Atlas 14 requirements. Adjustments at the M122-00-00 culvert crossing are also planned to improve safety and hydraulic performance, with necessary right-of-way and easement verifications to ensure compliance and facilitate effective implementation, reflecting a comprehensive approach to modern, sustainable urban roadway design.

Expected Impact:

To enhance traffic flow, pedestrian mobility, and stormwater management through redesigned medians, new sidewalks, and an upgraded drainage system, improving community connectivity and resilience while ensuring environmental sustainability and legal compliance.

Alternative Options:

If study report is not approved the project will not be completed.
