Request by the Flood Control District for approval to accept an amendment to an agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to revise the scope for the FY 2022 Urban Flood Risk Study Mapping Activity Study Program (Bond ID Z-10, Project ID Z100-00-00-PG010, Countywide).

Background and Discussion:
The Urban Flood Risk Study is a critical, grant-funded effort to better understand the nuances of and educate the public on factors that contribute to urban flooding in our region. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has provided funds for this study, furthering our long partnership and helping plan for the future of Harris County. This work is particularly important in a highly urbanized area and will provide a better understanding of risk factors than we have ever had before.
Expected Impact:
The Statement of Work will no longer explicitly refer to addressing avoiding a “lack of inclusion” as a goal of our outreach strategy.
Alternative Options:
The alternative would be to choose not to comply with the request for revision and risk losing grant funding.
