Background and Discussion:
The Office of the County Engineer (OCE) with the assistance of the Office of Purchasing Agent procured Job No. 26/0147. The contractor shall assist the department with the evaluation, planning, coordination, marketing, leasing, acquisition, disposition, and management of residential, commercial, and other County real property on a case-by-case, as-needed basis. Services performed under this agreement may include site reconnaissance and assessment visits, review of appraisals, negotiation through closing, relocation assistance, and other specialized real property assignments as directed by the department. These services will support OCE’s ongoing need for professional brokerage expertise to manage a growing and evolving portfolio of County-owned and County-leased real property.
Expected Impact:
Award of this contract will provide the County with on-call access to qualified brokerage and real property consulting expertise needed to support timely acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and other real estate activities across the County’s property portfolio. These services will allow OCE to respond efficiently to time-sensitive real estate needs, obtain market analysis and negotiation support for County transactions, and maintain continuity of professional brokerage services.
Alternative Options:
If not awarded, OCE will lack dedicated access to specialized brokerage resources needed to support real property services, which may impact and delay County real estate transactions, infrastructure projects, capital improvement projects, and other County operations that depend on timely and expert property-related support.
