Background and Discussion:
Commissioner Precinct One is responsible for ensuring the efficient, effective, and equitable management of the baseball at Bane Park and El Franco Lee Park, so that they are of maximum benefit to the community. To meet that responsibility for 2024, Precinct One conducted an open process of requesting written proposals for management of facilities. Those proposals were then evaluated by a Precinct committee using a predetermined set of criteria. Based on that process, Houston Wildcatters Youth Sports, a nonprofit Texas corporation, has been selected as the best choice for management of the baseball facilities at Bane Park and El Franco Lee Park for 2024.

Provision of efficiently, effectively, and equitably managed baseball facilities at Bane Park and El Franco Lee Parks.

Not awarding this contract would require Precinct One to commit significant resources to staffing and managing the baseball fields.
