Background and Discussion:

This construction contract will provide repairs, upgrades, and modifications consisting of various improvements for the Northeast segment of the Toll Road.  Sign sheeting and pavement markings fade over time and have typical life cycle of 7 to 10 years. As reflectivity diminishes, it is harder to identify travelling lanes and read signs in the nighttime and under heavy rain conditions thus causing driver safety issues. The existing signs and pavement markings along the Sam Houston Northeast corridor have exceeded its life cycle and are scheduled for replacement.

Expected Impact:

This advertisement and the eventual construction contract will provide the necessary improvements to maintain the HCTRA roadway and facilities to ensure that the Toll Road system provides reliable and safe transportation to the traveling public.
