Background and Discussion:

This Term Contract will allow the Vendor to provide Rip Rap, Granular Fill, and Related Items for the use by Harris County Flood Control District.  Purchase Orders (POs) will be issued to the Vendor as drainage deficiencies are identified.  Once an identified project work order has been developed and coordinated by Maintenance Construction Group (MCG) for execution.  The material ordered will be picked up by MCG’s trucks for delivery to the work site.  This process allows a prompt response by the District’s in-house crews to public concerns for small drainage deficiencies.

Expected Impact:

HCFCD will use this Term Contact to supply the District’s work crews with rip rap and granular fill for channel repairs.  Using a direct supplier of materials will secure the availability of the product and reduce the cost, instead of relying on a contractor.  The materials will be used for work repair projects throughout Harris County.

Alternative Options:

No award will increase the cost and time to secure the materials from a contractor.
