Background and Discussion:
This On-Call project involves modifying an existing traffic signal located at the intersection of Kuykendahl Rd. and Hufsmith. This On-Call project consisted of the modification of an existing traffic signal system with appropriate pedestrian facilities that includes upgrades to ADA ramps, converting eastbound lanes to dedicated left, shared thru-left, and dedicated right turn lane with 150 ft storage; provide a dedicated southbound right turn lane with 200 ft storage; striping, signage improvements at the intersection of Kuykendahl Rd and Hufsmith, Precinct 3. This project was completed to enhance and provide a reliable and safe route of transportation to the residents of Harris County at the existing intersection. The project was overseen by Harris County Engineering Department CPD-team.
Final Adjustments ($0)
Change included additional funds for the following:
PCO-1 -Grant 2 additional contract days due to waiting on a resolution regarding subgrade and black base placement to insure quality roadwork.
PCO-2 - Grant 1 day for field adjustments due to unknown duct bank conflict. MC2 made adjustment to flowline of proposed arch pipe lateral as well as make an adjustment to outfall into prop junction
box Sta 6+07.59 (KUY).
Expected Impact:
The traffic signal rebuild will improve the safety and efficiency of both pedestrian and vehicular traffic
Alternative Options:
No alternative option, otherwise, Contractor will be delay for payment of his final pay estimate, which include the retainage.
