Background and Discussion:

“Dads Count” is an 8-hour workshop presented in four two-hour sessions. “Dads Count” is specifically designed for fathers who may feel unimportant in the lives of their children, have lost touch with their children, or through a variety of circumstances, believe they have no "say" in their children’s daily lives.

Expected Impact:

The loss of connection between parent and child has occurred, and the focus of the workshop is to provide fathers with information and skills necessary to aid them in creating a new connection and regaining their relationships with their children. The workshop’s emphasis is on providing fathers with the skills necessary to become a co-parent, and on strategies to put an end to conflict with the other parent. The class is free of charge for fathers who are under community supervision for non-payment of child support. All classes are presented online in a virtual classroom by a live, interactive instructor.
