title

Request by Public Health Services for approval to accept an amendment to an agreement with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to update Contract Representatives and the Security and Privacy Inquiry for the Title V Dental Services Program, effective September 1, 2026.

end

Background and Discussion:

Texas Health and Human Services Commission has issued an amendment to the existing agreement to update the Contract Representatives and the Security and Privacy Inquiry requirements associated with the Title V program. These updates are administrative in nature and ensure continued compliance with state oversight, communication protocols, and privacy standards.

Expected Impact:

With Title V funding, more than 4,000 dental visits will be provided to uninsured children and adolescents in Harris County in FY2026. Without these funds, many of the families served through this program would not have access to dental care. Patients will benefit from receiving diagnostic, preventive, restorative, and basic surgical procedures, helping reduce unnecessary Emergency Department visits for dental pain.
