Background and Discussion:

This confidential public health data will be used for the assessment of essential public health services including monitoring the health of individuals in the Harris County community. The Texas Cancer Registry data will support HCPH teams to target public health interventions such as outreach, and or provide mobile services. We are looking to have a data-driven approach to identify geographic areas or neighborhoods with the highest burden of cancer that may also relate to environmental conditions or demographic characteristics. HCPH would like to identify areas within our county that need the most assistance so that along with healthcare, community and other partners can work together to address the health issues and disparities.

Expected Impact:

Report the trends of cancer in the Harris County community identified by the Office of Epidemiology Surveillance and Emerging Disease.
