Background and Discussion:

On June 26, 2012, Harris County Commissioners Court approved an agreement with TransCore LP for the Toll Collection System - Roadside Solution for the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA). The agreement provides the roadside toll collection infrastructure and associated services necessary to support electronic toll collection operations throughout the toll road system. Since the original agreement, Commissioners Court has approved multiple amendments and renewal options to support ongoing operational requirements, system enhancements, and maintenance services.

The Optional Maintenance component of the agreement provides preventive and corrective maintenance, technical support, software updates, and equipment support necessary to maintain the performance, reliability, and availability of the roadside toll collection system. These services are critical to ensuring the continued operation of toll collection equipment and associated system components that support the collection, processing, and transmission of toll transactions throughout the HCTRA network.

The current contract term expires on August 31, 2026. Approval is requested to exercise Renewal Option 9 of 15 in accordance with the terms and conditions of the agreement.

Expected Impact:
Exercising this renewal option will ensure uninterrupted maintenance and support services for HCTRA's Toll Collection System - Roadside Solution, minimize operational risk, reduce the potential for system disruptions, and support the continued efficient collection of toll revenues.
