Background and Discussion:
The request will allow Harris County to initiate a feasibility study with Concept Engineers, Inc. to provide professional engineering services for feasibility for the development of a shared use path for the Cullen Park Path, providing safe connection options for pedestrians and cyclists between Greenhouse Road and Barker Cypress Road, spanning roughly 1.4 miles.
Expected Impact:
This project will assess the feasibility of a Hike and Bike Path along the project limits, connecting to existing sidewalks to enhance mobility for non‑motorized users and pedestrians to improve safe, efficient connectivity in addition to providing additional recreational opportunities for the surrounding communities.
Alternative Options:
If no action is taken, the safety and mobility benefits associated with the proposed improvements will not be evaluated for feasibility, thereby depriving residents and pedestrians of the enhancements these potential improvements are intended to provide.
