Background and Discussion:
Barrett Station (Phase 1 - Dreamland Place) Subdivision Drainage Improvements project is in the Northeast area of Harris County, east of FM 2100 and north of FM 1942. The scope of this project includes regrading roadside ditches, replace undersized driveway culverts, removal and replacement of driveways, road replacement in certain sections and construction of a dry bottom detention basin with pump station on the northeast corner of the subdivision, south of East Broussard.
The change in contract includes the following:
The line items are adjusted to reconcile overrun and underrun quantities on the project for completion of the proposed scope of work.
• The increase of quantities on overrun line-item numbers 3, 22, 25, 49, 79 and 81 for an addition in the amount of $85,328.25.
• The decrease of quantities on underrun line-item numbers 4, 5, 27, 47, 55, 57, and 74 for a deduction in the amount of $4,736.39.
The above additions and deductions result in a net change in the amount of $80,591.86 and 0 calendar days.
Expected Impact:
This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the Barrett Station (Phase 1 - Dreamland Place) subdivision.
Alternative Options:
The County could elect to approve the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the contractor will not be able to complete the scope of work.
