Background and Discussion:

The project includes the rehabilitation of approximately 1.7 miles of concrete pavement along Beamer Road in Harris County Precinct 2 to improve roadway conditions and safety.  Work consists of full-depth concrete pavement repairs, crack sealing, replacement of traffic signal detection loops, stormwater inlet repairs, pavement striping, traffic control, and final site restoration in accordance with the approved plans and engineering standards.

PCO#1 - The original plan calls for the removal and replacement of the concrete panel from Sagerock Drive to Scarsdale Boulevard.  However, during a field review, it was determined that the existing guardrail must be temporarily removed and stored to allow the contractor to complete the concrete paving work.  This scope revision is necessary because the guardrail obstructs access to the work area where the existing paving must be removed and replaced with the proposed paving. Once the paving repairs are completed, the contractor will reinstall the guardrail.  The total cost for the removal, storage, and reinstallation of 982 LF of guardrail is $12,775.82.

PCO#2 - During construction, additional concrete panels requiring replacement were identified, and existing guardrails that conflicted with pavement removal had to be taken down, stored, and reinstalled after concrete placement.  These added tasks were directed at by the client and were outside the contractor's control, thereby justifying a 15-day time extension.

PCO#3 - This final adjustment will allow to adjust the bid quantities against to work performed by contactor will result in paying the contractor for complete work and adding fund to the contract $87,570.04

Expected Impact:

Change allows the Contractor to be compensated for the work performed.
