Background and Discussion:
The location of the work is in the Fallbrook, Ridgepoint, and Westpoint Subdivisions in the Halls Bayou Watershed. The proposed improvements include installation of new storm sewer system, roadway paving, channel restoration and desilting.
The Change in contract request includes the following:
• Addition of grade 1 riprap - Added 325.06 square yard of Grade 1 riprap to line item #47, at $110 per square yard for a total of $35,756.60. Deducted 1,430.264 square yard from line item #82, seal slab at $25.00 per square yard for a total deduction of $35,756.60 with an net change in the amount of $0.00 and added 5 days to the contract.
• Reconciliation of overrun line items - Added 22 square yards to Line item #5, Remove & Dispose Existing Concrete (Backslope Interceptor) at $40.00 per square yard for a total of $880.00. Added 6 linear feet to line item #33, 60-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe, C-76, CL III, at $485.00 per linear foot for a total of $2,910.00. Added 10 square yards to line item #48, Reinforced Concrete Slope Paving (5") at $100.00 per square yard for a total of $1,000.00. Added 15 square yards to line item#49, Reinforced Concrete Spillway (4 inch), at $100 per square yard for a total of $1,500.00. Added 2,300 linear feet to line item #85, Tree Root Pruning (along channel) at $1.00 per linear foot for a total of $2,300.00. Deducted 343.6 square yards from line item#82, Seal Slab at $25.00 per square yard for a total deduction of $8,590.00 to pay for overrun line items above. This will be a net change in the amount of $0.00 and 0 days.
Expected Impact:
This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation
of structural flood damage to homes in the Fallbrook, Ridgepoint and Westpoint subdivision.
Alternative Options:
The County could elect to fund the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the contractor will not be able to complete the original scope of work.
