Background and Discussion:

Precinct 4 seeks approval to enter into an agreement with the Houston Food Bank to provide meals to eligible children through the Kids Cafe Program at designated community centers. The program supports the County’s responsibility to assist residents who are unable to support themselves and serves a clear public purpose by addressing food insecurity. No County funds will be provided under this Agreement, and all activities will be carried out using existing staff and resources.

Expected Impact:

This agreement will expand access to nutritious meals for low-income children and disabled youth at multiple Precinct 4 community centers. By partnering with the Houston Food Bank, the County can enhance food security without incurring additional costs. The initiative is expected to strengthen community support services and improve the wellbeing of vulnerable residents.
