Background and Discussion:

The District requires an agreement by and between the District and Magellan Pipeline Company, L.P., allowing the District to cross the pipeline with construction equipment.  Also, to remove and replace the concrete side slope through which the pipeline presently penetrates through as an aerial crossing over the channel.

Expected Impact:

The project will repair and stabilize the channel side slopes preventing further failure of the concrete side slopes in the vicinity of the Magellan pipeline. If an agreement is not obtained, repair of the concrete channel side slopes will not occur and the degrading soil behind the concrete side slopes will continue to fail resulting in the complete collapse of the channel side slopes.

Alternative Options:

Do not proceed with obtaining an agreement and repair of the channel.  The channel will continue to deteriorate causing more impacts to the channel and surrounding property.
