Background and Discussion:

The Hunting Bayou Channel Improvements, (HCFCD Unit H100-00-00-B005) – Lockwood Revision project consists of channel regrading and redesign of proposed trails associated with Project Hunting just upstream of Lockwood Drive.  Major work activities include excavation of approximately X cubic yards (CY) of material with off-site disposal, 1,584 SF of concrete retaining walls, 6” concrete channel lining, 535 square yards (SY) of bike trail, and approximately 143 linear feet of 24” HDPE pipe within the vicinity of the Lockwood Drive crossing of Hunting Bayou. The overall objective is to decrease the frequency of flooding within the Hunting Bayou Watershed by widening and deepening the Hunting Bayou channel between the Homestead Detention Pond and US 59. The proposed improvements associated with the Lockwood revisions will finalize this reach of Project Hunting and will help meet overall project objectives

Expected Impact:

Not to construct or complete the Huntington Bayou Federal project as this is the last phase for channel conveyance.
