Background and Discussion:

Harris County Precinct 2 (PCT2) has requested that Harris County Engineering Department (HCED) manage the design and construction the transformation of 2 miles of a 2-lane road into a 1 lane + linear park, along South Houston Avenue G from Texas Street to 14th Street, located in Houston, Texas 77587. The goal is to provide a linear park with amenities focused on public recreations. To meet Revive2Thrive vision of Precinct 2 for empowering communities and creating opportunities to existing neighborhoods, the project will design, evaluate, and analyze for roadway, drainage, traffic, shared use path and landscape buffers improvements.

 

Expected Impact:

This project will be contributed to incorporate linear park, pedestrian and bicycle facilities that promote safety, mobility and connectivity throughout the project limit and make it more pedestrian/bicycle friendly and improve the neighborhood quality of life.
