Background and Discussion:

Precinct 3 submitted a request to HCED PMO for HCED to manage the design and construction of the renovation or replacement of three restroom/concession facilities at Meyer Park and one restroom facility at A.D. Dyess Park.  Not all of the existing facilities provides ADA accessible stalls, and they all experience poor air circulation.  The existing facilities are not freeze resistant and plumbing fixtures have failed and been replaced after past weather events.  The Prime Consultant will provide professional architectural and engineering services for to provide high-quality amenities to the existing facilities, including replacing plumbing, and adding HVAC.

Expected Impact:

This award of this project will allow the firm to conduct the necessary design for the construction to the existing restroom/concession facilities at Precinct 3, making the facilities resilient, accessible, hospitable, and ultimately updating the appearance of the park facilities.

Alternative Options:

If no action is taken, the existing structures will remain non-ADA compliant, and the plumbing fixtures will continue to require replacement after extreme cold periods.
