Background and Discussion:
The Prado Woods Subdivision Drainage Improvements project is in northwest Harris County, within the Cypress Creek Watershed. The subdivision is serviced by a single road, Prado Street, west of Grant Road. The existing storm water drainage system consists primarily of open ditches which ultimately outfalls to HCFCD Unit No. K100-00-00. This project includes the installation of underground drainage utilities, reconstruction of existing concrete pavement and driveways throughout the Prado Woods Subdivision.
The change in contract includes the following:
The line items are adjusted to reconcile overrun and underrun quantities on the project for completion of the proposed scope of work.
• The decrease of quantities on underrun line-item numbers 4, 6, 7, 13, 18, 20, 21, 34, 46, 49, 51, 55, 58, 59, 60 and 61 for a deduction in the amount of $36,474.95.
The above deductions result in a net deduction in the amount of -$36.474.95.
Expected Impact:
This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the Prado Woods subdivision.
Alternative Options:
The County could elect to fund the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the contractor will not be compensated for completing the scope of work.
