Background and Discussion:
The consultant will be tasked with plan development, specifications, cost estimating, drainage calculations, and topographical survey for the removal of a free right on Stuebner Airline Road; the installation of a dedicated northbound left turn lane with 150’ of storage on Kleppel Road; and multi-way stop control at the intersection of these two roads. This amendment will add construction phase services to the original agreement.
Expected Impact:
Designing and constructing the proposed improvements at the intersection will improve efficiency, facilitate improved maintenance, and eliminate hazards from the intersection.
Alternative Options:
Stuebner Airline Road is classified as a Collector and has a posted speed of 35 miles per hour. This location currently operates as a minor street stop-controlled intersection. An alternative is to leave the intersection as per the existing condition, which will not provide operational benefits.
