Background and Discussion:

The proposed Natural Stable Channel Design project aims to restore the channel for stable conveyance of bankfull and flood flows in the reach of K124-00-00-X041. This reach extends from about 550 feet upstream of the Louetta Road Bridge to the confluence with Kotham Gully (K124-02-00), covering an existing channel length of approximately 1,650 linear feet. Acquiring this section is essential for restoring the channel and preventing future erosion.

Expected Impact:

Restoring the channel back to the original design capacity will protect the public and public infrastructure by allowing for the proper conveyance of water. The repairs will also reduce the risk of flooding in the future.

Alternative Options:

The alternative would be not to proceed with obtaining an easement. The Flood Control District would not have property rights to restore the channel and perform maintenance activities along the channel.
