Background and Discussion:
Barrett Station (Phase 1 - Dreamland Place) Subdivision Drainage Improvements project is in the Northeast area of Harris County, east of FM 2100 and north of FM 1942. The scope of this project includes regrading roadside ditches, replace undersized driveway culverts, removal and replacement of driveways, road replacement in certain sections and construction of a dry bottom detention basin with pump station on the northeast corner of the subdivision, south of East Broussard.
The Change in contract request includes the following:
• Sanitary and Waterline Relocations: Adding new line items due to field conditions where the Municipal Utility District need to redesign the existing sewer service lead, manholes, sewer service lines and water lines that were not initially shown to be a conflict as per the design plans for an additional cost of $467,893.57 and Harris County Engineering Department will be reimbursed per Interlocal Agreement with MUD 50 executed on 12/05/2023.
Expected Impact:
This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the Barrett Station (Phase 1 - Dreamland Place) subdivision.
Alternative Options:
The County could elect to approve the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the contractor will not be able to complete the scope of work.
