Background and Discussion:
Harris County currently has an active signal on-call contract for the installation and modification of traffic signal systems and related improvements. The original contract-Job No. 23/0341-was structured with only one renewal term, which is set to expire at the end of January 2026.
Expected Impact:
Continual installation and modification of traffic signal systems and related improvements to enhance public safety and intersection operations.
Alternative Options:
Intersections are evaluated based on the 2011 TMUTCD, considering traffic volume, crashes, pedestrian activity, and roadway network. Signals are installed where warrants are met to enhance safety and operations. Bidding each project individually could delay delivery by 3 to 9 months.
