Request for approval to execute a Joint Participation Interlocal Agreement between Harris County and Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 18 to design and construct a sidewalk along Malcomson Road and all related appurtenances.

Background and Discussion:
The construction of the sidewalk will improve pedestrian safety in the area. This project consists of design and construction of 5’ sidewalks within HC MUD 18. The MUD will design, bid, and manage construction of the sidewalk. The County will remit payment for the County’s portion of the sidewalk partnership.
Expected Impact:
This project will improve pedestrian safety in the area and close gaps between existing sidewalks.
Alternative Options:
The alternative is not to construct the sidewalk, and the pedestrian accessibility will remain unchanged.
