Background and Discussion:
This Agreement provides design and construction-phase services for the Goose Creek Channel Conveyance Improvements and the Rollingbrook Stormwater Detention Basin (Southern Segment), as well as a Preliminary Engineering Analysis for the Northern Segment (Stage 1). For the Southern Segment, the scope includes improving channel conveyance capacity, designing a stormwater detention basin (SWDB) to reduce flooding, addressing encroachments, and relocating the existing waterline. For the Northern Segment, the scope includes a two-stage analysis to evaluate hydraulic benefits, determine detention volume needs, assess alternative site locations, and develop conceptual high-level engineering deliverables.
Expected Impact:
The project seeks to reduce flood risks and strengthen resiliency in the Goose Creek watershed by providing up to 230 ac-ft of detention along O100-00-00, and remove 112 structures, 28 acres of inundation area, and 1.4 miles of roadway from flooding during the 100-year event.
