Project Description:

HCSO would like to purchase 500 new chairs for Jail Facility employees working the control pods.

The current chairs used by detention employees are over 10 years old.  The chairs are used daily for extended periods, and some chairs are no longer adequate for use. The chairs purchased need to be 24-hour chairs with a steel frame and seven casters.

Justification & Alternatives:

Keeping the old chairs reduces employee comfort and, at worst, impacts employee satisfaction and retention. A difficult job can be made more palatable with a new chair.  Small gestures, like a new chair, help with employee satisfaction and morale by demonstrating that leadership invests in the employees.
