Background and Discussion:

Harris County Public Health Services is seeking approval to renew its pharmaceutical supply and distribution contracts with Nationwide Pharmaceutical, LLC dba Medical Wholesale in the total amount of $2,661,544 through June 24, 2027. This contract(s) were originally awarded in 2024 to support the procurement of a broad range of pharmaceutical items, including contraceptives and emergency medications, necessary to meet the diverse clinical needs of Public Health Services programs. Renewing these agreements will ensure continued access to essential medications used in the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of disease for residents receiving medical services through HCPH, while maintaining a comprehensive and reliable medication supply.

Expected Impact:

Renewing this pharmaceutical distributor contract(s) will allow Public Health Services to maintain consistent access to medications needed to support clinical operations across programs. It will help meet ongoing demand for pharmaceuticals, particularly for populations that rely on publicly funded health services, and reduce the risk of supply disruptions. Continued access to these medications supports uninterrupted treatment and stable service delivery across HCPH clinics.
