Background and Discussion:

Alief Independent School District is seeking approval to host its Inaugural Superintendent 5K Fun Run on February 13, 2027, at Archbishop Joseph Fiorenza Park North.  The event will serve as a fundraiser benefiting the Alief ISD Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports students, staff, and families through scholarships, teacher grants, and other educational initiatives.

 

Expected Impact:

The Fun Run is expected to strengthen community engagement while generating support for Alief ISD programs that directly benefit students and educators.  Planned participation from local food trucks and family-friendly activities will enhance the park’s community use and contribute to a positive public event experience.
