Background and Discussion:

This Amendment No. 1 will provide funding for Change Order 1 for Sunshine Renewable Solutions to bore under the SSC parking lot. The basis for Agreement 240333 included saw cutting the concrete parking lot and excavating a trench for conduit and electrical cables connecting Solar Panels on the Maintenance Building to the Manual Transfer Switch located near Almeda Genoa Road.  Excavating a trench is not viable due to existing underground electrical cables, existing telecommunication cables, existing water lines, and existing stormwater drainage lines. Instead, a boring machine will be used to bore under the existing underground cables and lines.

Expected Impact:

This agreement amendment benefits FCD by enabling Sunshine Renewables to complete construction, and allow the Solar Panels to start-up, which will reduce electrical FCD costs and Greenhouse Gas emissions.

Alternative Options:

The alternative to approving this item would be not increase the value of Agreement 240333, which would result in denying Change Order 1, which would prevent Sunshine Renewable Solutions completing construction.
