Background and Discussion:
Apache Corporation partners with TreeLife Farms to manage and facilitate the Tree Grant Program. Harris County Precinct 1 was chosen for the Apache Corporation’s Tree Grant Program, which provides trees to charitable partners and government organizations yearly. After acceptance of the award, the trees will be planted at one or more tree planting events in Precinct 1.

Expected Impact:
Trees offer numerous ecological and public health benefits, including mitigating stormwater runoff and erosion, improving stormwater quality, reducing the urban heat island effect, and sequestering carbon associated with greenhouse gases. Once planted and established, these trees will also beautify green space and provide native wildlife habitat within Precinct One – aligning with the County’s strategic objective of increasing access to safe, clean, and enjoyable green space.
