Background and Discussion:
This Agreement will address flood risk mitigation through a combination of channel modification and
stormwater detention basins along the middle reach of mainstem Greens Bayou. The 89th Texas Legislature allocated funds in Senate Bill 1 to the Harris County Flood Control District. Senate Bill 1 was signed by the Governor on June 22, 2025, and will be effective on September 1, 2025. This allocation from the Texas Legislature is being obtained through the Texas Water Development Board. The project in Senate Bill 1 is the Greens Bayou Watershed Channel Improvements in the Greens Bayou Watershed.
Expected Impact:
