Background and Discussion:
These fees are in accordance with Senate Bill 6 from the 79th Legislative Session which requires Guardianship employees to be Texas Certified Guardians. It is requested that Harris County Resources for Children and Adults be allowed to pay the costs to cover these fees, including the application for provisional certification, permanent certification and renewal, fingerprinting/criminal history inquiry, and certification examination.

Expected Impact:
The requested amount is included in the FY27 budget.

Alternative Options:
There are no viable alternatives. An individual who provides guardianship services to a ward or supervises an individual who provides guardianship services on behalf of a program or department must be certified.
