Background and Discussion:
This change in contract is needed to complete the construction contract for this project. The Brookglen Stormwater Detention Basin (SWDB) (HCFCD Unit B512-00-00-E002) project site consists of excavating the three compartments of a stormwater detention basin bounded by Somerton Drive to the west, Ashwyne Lane to the north, CenterPoint Energy property with high voltage transmission facilities to the east, and a transmission line property to the south, within the City of La Porte, Texas. The scope of work includes the off-site disposal of approximately 45,157 cubic yards of excavated material to facilitate the construction of a dry-bottom stormwater detention basin. The basin will be divided into three compartments to mitigate potential conflicts with an existing 30-inch natural gas transmission line.
