Background and Discussion:
Following the July 9, 2026, Commissioners Court item concerning employees who care for young children, the County Judge’s Office worked with Commissioners Court offices and Human Resources & Talent (HRT) to review and finalize the survey questions. HRT’s Benefits & Wellness Division administered the anonymous survey. It was launched and communicated to employees on September 14, 2026, and closed on October 2, 2026, after being open for 19 calendar days.

The survey gathered employee feedback on childcare needs and challenges, workplace flexibility, awareness and use of existing County benefits and community resources, and opportunities to better support employees caring for young children. The attached report presents the results, summarizes themes from written responses, and offers recommendations for Court’s consideration.
