Background and Discussion:
Harris County Public Health (HCPH) is requesting to update the funding source of two positions from the Charity Care fund (2117) to the Healthy Texas Women grant (2602), to ensure appropriate funding expense related to the grant.

The Healthy Texas Women (HTW) program is a Texas Health and Human Services initiative. In partnership with Public Health Services and through our Clinical Health Services program, we provide free or low-cost women’s health and family planning services to eligible low-income women. It is designed to help women plan their families, whether to achieve, postpone, or prevent pregnancy, and improve overall health outcomes.

Expected Impact:
Updating the two Client Service Specialist positions’ funding source to the HTW grant will aim to provide direct patient care and preventive services to eligible women in Harris County, such as immunizations, screenings, and health education.
