Background and Discussion:
The U.S. DOT PROTECT grant program provides federal funding to help communities improve the resilience of transportation infrastructure to natural hazards, climate change, and extreme weather events. Funding supports resilience planning and infrastructure improvements designed to reduce risks from flooding, severe storms, extreme heat, and other hazards.

The project will advance resilience planning, preliminary engineering, and design development for four priority north-south roadway bridge crossings of Spring Creek: Hegar, Nichols, Roberts Cemetery, and Mueschke Roads.

Expected Impact:
If awarded, the grant will provide funds to develop a plan to address a critical transportation resilience challenge in the Spring Creek watershed at four bridge crossings along Hegar Road, Nichols Road, Roberts Cemetery Road, and Mueschke Road. These c...
