Background and Discussion:
Currently the agency is sending our entire Patrol Bureau through Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response
(ALERRT) training. This training is being conducted offsite. Active Shooter training consists of reality-based
training (scenarios). The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is committed to further educating our personnel to
better serve the citizens of Harris County. On May 22, 2025, Commissioners Court approved an agreement
with Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects, Inc. for professional design services for the New Active Shooter
Training Facility as part of the 2022 Safety Bond Program, Proposition A. The new facility will include Office
