Background and Discussion:
The Westfield Estates Subdivision area currently relies on outdated and failing septic systems for wastewater services. The Office of the County Administrator has allotted American Rescue Plan Act funding for a public sanitary sewer system project. The Sunbelt Freshwater Supply District has agreed to take ownership of the infrastructure upon completion of construction and will operate and maintain it.

Expected Impact:
Constructing a public sanitary sewer system and abandoning septic tanks will help to minimize bacterial contamination in the subdivision and in Halls Bayou. This project significantly improves environmental health and safety within the Westfield Estates Subdivision area, while increasing overall quality of life.
