Background and Discussion:

On July 9, 2026, Commissioners Court approved the following motion: “For OMB to include in the Fiscal Year 2027 proposed budget, OCA’s Office of Sustainability including all Grant and Special Funds within the Pollution Control services for Fiscal year 2027 budget.”

This item is an update on the status of this transition, with next steps identified that will transfer positions, contracts, and programs between departments. This item also provides authorization to work with the Auditor’s Office, Office of Management & Budget, Human Resources & Risk Management, the Purchasing Department, Universal Services, and any other relevant departments in connection with the technical and administrative logistics with final completion of this transition to be completed no later than March 31, 2027.

Expected Impact:
Completion of the previously approved Commissioners Court direction.
