Background and Discussion:
The Women’s Health Family Planning grant is awarded annually for the fiscal period from September?1 through August?31 and supports essential reproductive and preventive health services for women and families across Harris County. Harris County Public Health continues its efforts to expand clinic capacity, enhance outreach, and stabilize service delivery in communities with limited access to women’s health services.
With this amendment, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission has increased the Fee-for-Service allocation by $62,956, representing a substantial enhancement compared to prior amendments. The expanded funding directly strengthens the County’s ability to offer core reproductive health services, including wellness exams, contraception management, cancer screenings, and related preventive care.
