Background and Discussion:
This change in contract is needed to complete the construction contract for this project. The contract change
includes added 27 days consists of 5 calendar days due to inclement weather experienced in July 2026 and 22 calendar days needed to install an additional 1,000 SY of RipRap Grade I in Channel U107 due to underestimated plan quantities.

Expected Impact:
This change will allow the contractor to construct the project so that Harris County can realize intended flood risk reduction benefits.

Alternative Options:
This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order other than cancelling the contract, which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
