Background and Discussion:
The grant provides funds to programs seeking to provide general victim services to broad categories of victim populations that may include victims of commercial sexual exploitation or trafficking, including emergency and long-term residential (shelter) for children and transition-age youth as well as drop-in centers. This grant would enable the Domestic Violence & Human Trafficking Advocacy program to continue providing services to victims.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office anticipates receiving a renewal award; however, the awarding of this grant may be delayed by the grantor. This temporary budget transfer also serves to start the workflow to extend the grant positions into the new grant.
