Background and Discussion:

The Department of Economic Equity and Opportunity (DEEO) currently has nine (9) existing positions funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) that support programs within the County's Jobs & Education portfolio. Six (6) positions support Early Childhood Initiatives (ECI), and three (3) positions support Small Business and Workforce programs.

As the County transitions activities previously supported directly through ARPA funding, DEEO is requesting to update the funding source for these existing positions effective October 17, 2026. Specifically, six (6) positions supporting ECI and one (1) position supporting Small Business and Workforce programs will transition to FLEX Fund 1040, while the remaining two (2) Workforce Development related positions will transition to General Fund 1000.
