Background and Discussion:
The purpose of this Agreement is to formally establish and outline the respective responsibilities of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and SMG regarding the deployment and use of HCSO SkyWatch Towers during events held at NRG Park. This partnership continues a successful operational practice that has been utilized during events at NRG Park for the past 12 years, providing an additional layer of elevated surveillance, situational awareness, and visible crime deterrence throughout the complex.
The Agreement is intended to ensure clear coordination between HCSO and SMG concerning the placement, operation, security, logistical support, and overall use of the SkyWatch Towers. Continued deployment of this equipment will support public safety operations during major events, assist with monitoring high-traffic and high-density areas, and enhance the ability of law enforcement personnel to identify and respond to potential security concerns. Formalizing the existing two-year partnership will help ensure the continued efficient and effective use of these resources during future events at NRG Park.
