Background and Discussion:
The County Clerk's Office will require security for the County Clerk's Back to School Birth Certificate event taking place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, across all ten (10) County Clerk's Office Annex locations. We will rely on the participation of non-exempt law enforcement officers, who will be compensated for their time at the approved overtime (time-and-a-half or "z-time") monetary hourly rate of pay. The Harris County Auditor's Office requires Court approval in advance to authorize direct overtime compensation.
Expected Impact:
This authorization will allow for the security of personnel across all ten (10) County Clerk's Office Annex locations. We have funds available in the existing labor budget to cover the costs associated with this request.
